What a good looking group of people! They make the Wings & Slicks race suits look fashionable. Posers, every single one of them. Once again this past Sunday at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas the formula cars took to the track with another dozen bucket list thrill seekers. Every smile you see is real, no actors were used in the making of this photograph.

Wings and Slicks has successfully created more open wheel driving addicts.  Lone Star Park it was the birthplace of new open wheel fanatics, not only the drivers but their spouses and family enjoyed a new era in racing for Texas. With Formula One coming to Texas this year we thought it was appropriate to bring a top notch Formula Car driving experience to Texas. We intend creating more fans each day we are here.

On July 22nd, Wings and Slicks hosted our first ever Pursuit Series day in Barrie Ontario at our Molson Center complex track. The weather could not have been better.  The day began with a warm up session, followed by the qualifying round to determine positions for the round robins. There were 5 rounds before the final, where 2 drivers competed in the Championship Pursuit Race.

In the final Pursuit Race, Rick Majithia came out on top with the win! He celebrated with a bottle of champagne and won a $100 gift certificate for his next visit back!

Everyone had a blast, including the staff and we all can’t wait for the next Pursuit Series day!

This coming Monday and Tuesday we will be holding our first ever event at the Sheridan Campus in the heart of Oakville! At this corporate event, there will be a new track with all new challenges, new fun, and new experiences. Come by and check things out on July 18th and 19th, spectators welcome!

Last weekend’s Wings and Slicks event on July 9th went great! Everyone had a blast, with blazing hot weather and fast paced fun. The afternoon session was filled with smiles and competitive spirits, as in the third timed session, everyone was in for the win! Times were close, right down to the second, but there could only be one winner.

Congratulations to Rafael Midence for coming out on top with the fastest time and winning a free day to another event!

Wings and Slicks is a proud sponsor of the Easter Seals 24 Hour relay race that took place on June 19 and 20, 2010. The top three fund raising teams participating in the event received an experience of a lifetime for 2 to drive our Formula Race cars.

New for the upcoming season we have now introduced the Wings and Slicks Pursuit series. Think you have what it takes to be a great driver? or maybe it’s just a chance to compete in a sport otherwise unreachable. Anyone who has experienced one of our classes is eligible to join the club and compete in the safest most exciting form of motorsports. Cars are kept at a safe distance from each other but you will know if you are winning or losing visually. No need to buy a car or transportation, just show up at the track and we provide it all.
